Sligo Mountaineering club and its members ensure compliance with Covid 19 restrictions at all levels. Under the current Level 5 restrictions we are not operating weekly outings. This will be reviewed again once restrictions have been eased.
We hope to begin meeting again in February but that will only happen if restrictions ease sufficiently.
Sligo Mountaineering Club are following advice & guidance from Mountaineering Ireland. The latest available information was released on the 23rd of December 2020. We have reposted this updated below for convenience. You can see more real time updates by visting: https://www.mountaineering.ie/
Recent surges in the transmission of COVID-19 has caused the imposition of increased restrictions in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
The key information for hillwalkers and climbers relating to these restrictions is:

Republic of Ireland |

26th December onwards |
From 27th December onwards |

In Northern Ireland club activity should cease for the period of these restrictions. Club members can continue to go hillwalking or climbing outdoors as an individual or with members of their own household.
In the Republic of Ireland club activity can continue. The restrictions permit a pod of up to 15. Long-standing advice from Mountaineering Ireland is to limit the size of the group to 10 or less – this is for the purposes of group management, safety, parking etc.
